I was basically forced to come out at work after a co-worker saw me on the local news at the American Atheists Convention in Minneapolis... After that though, I came out to some people at work who had been cool to me in the past, including a couple of very religious people. They are all pretty okay with me being an atheist, or at least they say so to my face.

It was pretty funny at the time, I was working very hard to keep it a secret at work. I still can't tell everyone at work. I work with adults with disabilities, and some of that includes mental illness. I know there are people who would use it against me, so I can't share. That's okay, though, because I'm open in the rest of my life!

But isn't it sad that people who are religious pretty much don't have any qualms about letting others know they are believers? They don't have any reason to fear people using it against them. I hate that unfairness.
