You'll like the Freethought picnics we have over the summer with other groups. There's a group of musicians who get together and play in a park for fun.
Very cool. It sounds right up my alley. I look forward to thoes.

There are more atheists then you'd think, but not so many who are looking for a group.
Good point.

If you stick around long enough and go to a few events, you'll find a handful of ex-pastors who became atheists.
Nice. Ex-pastors have a lot of insight I've found.
QUOTE:
Are you out with your family about being an atheist?
Yeah. I was boardering evangelical when I first came to my revalation. I didn't hide it one bit. I thought I had discovered a profound truth (I still feel it is true, but not so profound) and that if I merely shared, everyone would agree with me. Needless to say, I am the only atheist in my entire family. I kinda labeled myself as a "black sheep" of sorts.
My family has remained nice and it really does not show on the surface anymore. Though I can tell that they are secretly concerned for me. Which is a double edged sword, in one sence they see me as a misguided mut, but on the other, they truely care about my well being and want me to be in heaven with them. So we kinda have an unspoken truce, which is fine by me.
