What do you want Minnesota Atheists to do? If you were in charge, what would your priorities be? I'd like to focus on education about atheism, to atheists and theists alike.

Well, good thing I'm not in charge, because I would make it our highest priority to find many atheist women.

Seriously though, educating atheists should be first, then educating theists.

Long as this forum stays free speech, maybe add a spell checker

I'd probablly just help with picking up trash, seen a sign on 160th in Lakeville. Need a thread for that

And buy some shirts, I was gonna get one of those Expelled shirts and cut out holes for my nipples

Its like smoking , I never started to it doesn't bother me

I went out with a girl (for awhile)that went to that Jesus People Church on Hennipen, wish I knew ahead of time

Hello, Paul. Consider using Firefox. It has built-in real time spell checking.

I'll get some suggestions up soon. I'm still mullin' it over.

I listen to the austin-area atheists podcast, and they just had pub crawl. I'm new to minnesota atheists, so pardon me if you guys have done this before - but I was thinking it'd be a great way to get to know other members, and maybe recruit some more young people (maybe a joint pub crawl with CASH?). We could make T-shirts with the website on it, and get the word out to the public about our presence, as well as stimulate some interesting bar conversations in the process. Just a thought...

I also think some public service events couldn't hurt too - it'd serve well to showing the public that you can do community service without the religion. It could be as simple as all going to donate blood together.

I know that the ACA does a blood drive every two months as a group. That is something that the Charity Committee should look into. The pub crawl idea may work. The trick is getting people motivated to do it. Most of our membership is older, and may find no use for it. Younger people may join in, like CASH, but getting CASH motivated can be tricky too. I tried to get them to go to the American Atheists Convention, and not even Richard Dawkins can motivate some people. We'll get organized one of these days, and get more people to plan events. Right now, we're squeezing a handful of people dry, so we need fresh volunteers.
