Hey Folks.

Well I came out as an Atheist about 4 months ago and well I dont think anybody really cared, well they hardly speak to me anyway.
My father in law does not accept it and he is very religious. he believes that the bible is the word of god and it is 100% accurate and true. He even questioned my wife as to why and how she actually married an atheist and to put her foot down and get our baby to be baptized when it is born next year.

We live in an apartment right now until we move into our house soon, so I did infact place a Richard Dawkins for reason and science logo on my door and people hardly talk to me now. I live surrounded by very religious people. I dont really have any friends here at all as we just moved back from the UK. So not many people know I am an atheist. Plus I am a liberal democrat who supports Obama, so that really goes down well with my neighbors who are all conservative republicans.

Besides this I really dont tell people my beliefs. I am so happy to be at this forum where I can meet people who share my views.

It can be scary at first when you don't know anyone, but it's very relaxing soon enough. It's a comfort to be around people who think like you.
