Hi all,

There's certainly no other issue that I feel more strongly about than this one. On many issues I feel split, being able to see equally, the legitimacy of both sides of the coin, but when it comes to religious attempts to explain our creation, I cannot fathom how people can have faith without evidence. It seems to me our most important and interesting question, yet large powerful majorities continue to base their definitions of morality on primitive texts, and answer the unknown with supernatural explanations.

I think that it is crucial to have established communities to push back against the overwhelming influence of organized religion. I have never belonged to one or really done anything to substantively make a difference, so I would look foward to helping in any way that I can.

Hey, welcome! When I joined, I never really thought I would get involved. That went out the window in a few months! It's actually pretty fun. Hope to see you at some events.

We have a Freethought Picnic coming up this Sunday. It'll be a good way to meet people and get a foot in the door.
