The Phoenix Mars Lander
landed on the surface of Mars on Memorial Day weekend, and since then has discovered water ice just below the surface. Over the next few days, the lander will be cooking a sample of soil with water ice to determine its makeup and attempt to detect signs of organic compounds. You can follow the mission through the social networking site Twitter.
