Celebrating Biblical Scripture
By Eric Jayne

Nearly all Christians have a few favorite bible verses that they find to be deeply inspiring. The texts from many of these verses have been stamped on aesthetic snapshots depicting a variety of scenic natural landscapes. Having observed several such pictures on display in neighboring office cubicles at work, I came to find it very curious that the recurring maniacal proclivities that dominate the bible (genocide, slavery, womanly submission, capricious rules, etc.) are not represented.

With the help of royalty-free pictures from publicdomainpictures.net, along with Photoshop and the bible, I created a few bucolic pictures that extol biblical scripture in all of its demented glory. The Old Testament and New Testament are both represented as are the New International Version and King James translations. Of course there’s a lot of savage biblical fodder to choose from, some arguably even more wicked than the verses I selected, so we can consider these to be just a few examples of the many inspirationally challenged pious art to be produced. If you have photo-editing software I encourage you to make your own. It’s fun, free, decorative, and would make a great stocking stuffer for Christmas!

I wonder which lovely image would go with Habakkuk 2:16 "Drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered."
