April Public Meeting of Minnesota Atheists
Announcing the April Public Meeting of Minnesota Atheists:
Organizing the Minnesota Women’s March
On January 21st, 2017, we marched at capitols across the nation, in Washington, D.C., and in cities around the world in recognition that women’s rights are human rights. The mission was to send a strong message to our administration on their first official day in office. Around the world almost 5 million people marched to toward equality, justice, and human rights making the Women’s March the biggest protest in US History and with 100,000 participants here in Minnesota it was the biggest protest in Minnesota history.
Alicia Donahue, as part of the leadership team of the Women’s March Minnesota, oversaw the engagement and street team efforts. This included social media presence, engagement, merchandise, and coordination of volunteers.
Alicia Donahue has dedicated her career to advocating for those in need and giving back to the community. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2012 with her Masters in Social Work. Since then she has worked tenaciously to protect the rights of one of Minnesota’s most vulnerable populations, individuals with disabilities.
Join us and hear from Alicia as she shares what it was like organizing the Women’s March Minnesota. She will talk about what is next for their organization and answers any questions you have.
