Atheist Night with St. Paul Saints: August 12th
Atheist Night with St. Paul Saints: August 12th
Back by popular demand, Minnesota Atheists and the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) are cosponsoring a Saint Paul Saints game for the sixth year in a row! We are going to demonstrate to the public how saintly atheists are with a food drive benefiting the The Food Group food bank, the tagline of the game being “Food for Thought”. With this food theme, we can expect a visit from the Flying Spaghetti Monster during the game.
In embracing the saintly atheist persona, we are switching things up and the player jerseys will read “sAints” this year. They will feature the lower case “s” in retaining the name saints, but will emphasize the “A” using the atheist scarlet letter “A”.
Purchase Tickets
Go to SaintsGroups.com and use the password foodforthought to purchase tickets in our reserved section. Infield tickets are $21, and outfield tickets are $11. Both include a voucher for a free Saints hat. Don’t forget to print your tickets.
Own a Personalized 2017 “(s)Aints” Jersey
Email board@mnatheists.org before JULY 20 with your size, number, and name that you would like on the jersey. This is the official, identical jersey to what the players will actually wear on the August 12 game. The jersey is 100% Polyester moisture management performance fabric; Two button placket; double-needle hem; Badger heat seal logo on left sleeve. Tackle Twill front logo, back name, and number. The cost is $50. Check, cash, or PayPal payment accepted. Payment arrangements will be explained further when you email the board.
Throw the First Pitch
We are opening the opportunity to throw the first pitch at the game to dues-paying members of Minnesota Atheists and FFRF in a drawing! All you need to do is be a dues paying member of either or both organizations and let us know that you want to be entered by filling out this form (or a hard copy version brought to events).
To throw the first pitch, you must purchase your own ticket(s) to enter the game. Board Member Eric Jayne has volunteered to give the person drawn a lesson on throwing the ball if they want one. The drawing will be sometime in July.
