Area Communities

Minnesota Atheists is the oldest and largest atheist group in Minnesota, but there are many other groups catering to nonbelievers in the area. If you’re part of one of these groups and don’t see your information below, please let us know!

Duluth, MN

Lake Superior Freethinkers

Mutual support & intellectual growth for Duluth’s humanists, agnostics & atheists.

Grand Rapids, MN

Grand Rapids Area Freethinkers (GRAF)

The Grand Rapids Freethinkers offers a place where those who are already freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and skeptics can find others who share a secular humanist outlook and interests. We also serve as an educational resource for those just beginning to explore secularism, freethought and atheism. The group serves as a place to discuss ideas, books, videos and lots of other things. We also explore ways to make freethinkers more visible and active in the community. Finally, we seek ways to confront and respond to the encroachment of religion in our politics, schools and government.

Twin Cities, MN

Campus Atheists, Skeptics, & Humanists (CASH)

Campus Atheists, Skeptics, and Humanists (CASH) is a registered student organization at the University of Minnesota. We strive to create a community for atheist, agnostic, humanist, and other freethinking individuals.

Camp Quest North

Camp Quest is an overnight secular summer camp aimed towards critical thinking, skepticism, and open discussion. While campers partake in traditional camp activities, such as field games, swimming, archery, crafts, and campfires, what sets Camp Quest apart from traditional summer camps is our focus on humanist values and ethics. Our unique activities encourage rational inquiry, free speech, active citizenship, and respect. Camp Quest envisions a world in which children grow up exploring, thinking for themselves, connecting with their communities, and acting to make the most of life for themselves and others.

HumanistsMN

HumanistsMN is a secular community that promotes ethical living, widespread human flourishing, and a healthy planet through its commitment to science, reason, compassion, and creativity.

Minneapolis Skeptics

Had enough of astrologers, psychics, homeopaths, ghost hunters, aliens, conspiracy theorists, creationists, and snake oil salesmen? Yearning to talk with someone rational for a while? Skeptics are interested in critical thinking, science, and the psychologies of belief and perception. Come meet with local skeptics for some refreshing and sane conversation.

Secular Bible Study

Secular Bible Study is a joint effort between religious believers and atheists in the Twin Cities to study and discuss the Bible and Religion — not to engender any specific religious or non-religious view, but to explore their historical context, societal impact and cultural relevance. SBS invites expert speakers to lecture on particular topics and lead discussions; and facilitates respectful and constructive reasoning dialogues between people of many different (or no) beliefs, providing the opportunity for folks who may deeply disagree to build relationships with one another.

Rochester, MN
