We don’t need religion to gather together in the cold and the dark, especially considering how cold and dark Minnesota winters get. Accordingly, Minnesota Atheists hosts a celebration for the winter solstice every other year, with HumanistsMN hosting in the other years.

For us, solstice is a time to see our friends, have a good meal, and enjoy some entertainment. We can relax secure in the knowledge that the sun will return and we have one place during the holiday season that respects our lack of belief.
